Registered Provisional Psychologist
I am a Provisional Psychologist working in private practice. I completed my Master's of Counseling degree in 2024. I am still employed with Athabasca University as a historian, educator, and writer. I aim to provide financially accessible mental health services for individuals seeking culturally sensitive, compassionate, and supportive therapy.
I support my counselling clients collaboratively with Narrative Therapy. Together, we can deconstruct
obstacles that feel too big to face alone; we can see your goodness, skills, and hope separate
from your struggles, and we can build goals that feel possible.
I also believe that each person is the expert in how they would like their life to be
(Person-Centered Therapy). I believe that people possess inner wisdom and often solutions
(Solution-Focused Brief Therapy) and that sometimes we need a step-by-step plan to give us
some relief (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is an effective evidence-based treatment for trauma, depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns.
Grant is not supervised by Sophia (because they are married to each other š). He has an external supervisor, Nicolas Allen, Registered Psychologist.
